What comes in the system

Every CAIMEN cantilever sliding gate ships as a matched set rather than a leaf you must fit with third-party parts. The motor cabinet holds the drive, control board, receiver, hanger wheel assembly, infrared sensors, anti-pinch device and LED display. The gate leaf combines the top and bottom beams, bracing rods on both sides, middle column bases and rear tension rods.

The gantry at the receiving side carries the second set of infrared sensors, anti-pinch bars and the wing clamps that catch the leaf. Remote controls, a control panel, expansion bolts, embedded parts and the manual are included.

  • Motor cabinet with drive, controller and carriage
  • Gate leaf with 6005-T6 beams and bracing
  • Receiving gantry with sensors and guides
  • Embedded parts, remotes and installation manual

How the leaf travels without a track

When a remote, push button, loop sensor or LPR camera sends a signal, the motor drives the leaf through a gear and rack. The control system accelerates, runs at constant speed and decelerates before the limit, so the leaf stops without a jolt.

Encoders or limit switches locate the open and closed positions. During closing, infrared beams scan the path and the gate stops or reverses if anything crosses it.

Overview

The CAIMEN Cantilever Sliding Gate System is a complete, trackless gate package: aluminum leaf, carriages, drive, safety devices and access control interface, all built to your opening. Nothing crosses the driveway. The leaf hangs on rollers off to the side, so there's no ground rail to pack up with sand, ice or gravel.

Why care? On most sliding gates the rail is the first thing to give you trouble. Drop it and a wide opening over a drain or a busy truck lane stops being a weekly cleaning job.

Key features

Four beam profiles, picked per gate

Everything hangs off the beam. We offer four 6005-T6 aluminum cantilever beam profiles, each with its own section size and wall thickness, and your gate's length, height, infill and load decide which one you get. The bottom beam measures 302 x 213 mm, with walls up to 7.0 mm.

12-wheel carriage and pull-rod system

Top, bottom and side rollers on each carriage, twelve wheels in all, take the vertical load and the side sway together. Long leaves like to sag. A stainless steel pull-rod bracket working with a heavy-duty cast steel pull-rod system keeps yours level. Rollers, carriages and reinforcement parts adjust or swap out individually (see cantilever gate hardware).

Bolt-together frame

No big welding job on site. The sections arrive with prefabricated mechanical connections and your installers bolt them up. Truck clips the leaf? Unbolt the bent section and fit a new one.

500 W VFD drive

A 500 W motor on a variable frequency drive moves the leaf. It eases off before each end of travel, so no slam. You set the speed somewhere in the 18 to 22 m/min band (gate size and setup decide where), and power is 110V or 220V AC, 50/60 Hz. Overload and thermal protection, mechanical self-locking and a clutch-type manual release? Standard. It's rated for -35°C to +70°C, subject to motor and configuration.

Layered safety devices

We don't trust one sensor. Break the infrared beam on the posts and the gate stops, then reverses. A pressure-sensitive edge rides the leading edge with mechanical anti-pinch protection behind it. Add an overhead sensor with a warning light, plus an emergency stop within reach. Climbers? An infrared anti-climb function can trigger a 10-second alarm.

Architectural powder coating

Standard finish is AkzoNobel Interpon D1000, which meets AAMA 2603 and Qualicoat Class 1. Projects that need higher weathering durability (a coastal site, say) can step up to Interpon D2000, rated AAMA 2604 and Qualicoat Class 2. Those ratings describe the coating, not the whole gate. RAL colors are made to order.

Where it fits

Put it anywhere a ground track would be a headache:

  • Factory main gates and industrial park security gates
  • Logistics hubs with trailers crossing all day
  • Airports and hangars, government offices, police compounds
  • Manufacturing plants needing a large, heavy-duty opening
  • Hospitals and schools
  • Residential driveways on slopes or with drainage across the entry

Picture a 10 m opening with a storm drain across it and snow every winter. A tracked gate fights all three. This leaf just hangs over them.

Busy sites can leave it open at rush hour while LPR and a high-speed barrier sort traffic, then shut it at night with anti-climb armed. Opening too wide for one leaf? You want a bi-parting cantilever gate.

How to specify it

Here's what we need for a quote.

  • Clear opening width. Total leaf length runs about 1.5 times the opening, and you'll need that much free space beside it.
  • Gate height and infill, since those two pick the beam.
  • Opening direction: left, right, double (two leaves meeting on center) or opposite (two leaves offset roughly 40 cm so they can't collide).
  • Power supply (110V or 220V, 50 or 60 Hz).
  • Access control: remote, keypad, RFID, LPR, face or fingerprint, intercom or app. All connect through a dry contact interface.
  • Site exposure, such as coastal air, a typhoon zone or heavy snow. High-wind sites can get reinforced beams, extra embedded parts and diagonal pull rods.
  • Finish: RAL color, plus D1000 or D2000.

Check sizes in our specifications and foundations in our installation guide. CAD drawings come first; after you approve them, production typically takes 15 to 20 days. Email the list to [email protected] or use the contact page.

One note for U.S. buyers: automated vehicular gates there are generally expected to follow ASTM F2200 for construction and UL 325 for entrapment protection.

Cantilever Sliding Gate System questions

How long is the leaf compared with the opening?

Plan on roughly 1.5 times the clear opening, so a 6,000 mm opening takes a 9,000 mm leaf. The extra length is a counterbalance tail riding on the carriages, and it needs room beside the opening. On tight lots, people forget that part.

What foundation does the system need?

Our installation manual calls for an 800 x 800 x 800 mm pit filled with concrete of at least C20, with the carriages and housing set on one plane within plus or minus 10 mm. Mount the rear hanger wheel about 1.5 cm lower than the front support. You'll also want a dedicated switch with a 6 A breaker and reliable grounding.

Can I open the gate during a power cut?

Yes. Pull the clutch-type manual release and push the leaf by hand, which takes no more than 200 N at the clutch. It's a different story with the power on: when the gate's stopped, mechanical self-locking holds it at 300 N or more.

How big can a single cantilever leaf get?

Up to 18 m of clear span. We've delivered single leaves as long as 28 m overall, and height can be customized up to 4.0 m. Need to go wider? A bi-parting pair reaches 36 m of clear span.
